Advanced Play Therapy-Section I

Advanced Play Therapy-Section I is in the past.

Attendees must have completed the Introduction to Play Therapy workshop led by Dr. Denis' Thomas. This highly experiential 40-hour workshop covers advanced principles, history, and philosophies of play therapy, as well as modalities, techniques, applications, and skills. It includes an experiential component to practice and apply advanced play therapy and expressive arts skills within the context of ethical and diversity-sensitive practice. While the course is designed for application within the child population, special consideration will be given to applying a child-centered play therapy approach to adolescent and adult populations, applying play therapy principles across the life span. Attendees are invited to pursue specific interests and professional development through individualization of assignments and workshop activities.
