On Monday, Feb. 20, Lipscomb will present “Redefining Leadership in Crisis,” an event featuring Captain Ronald Johnson, Missouri Highway Patrol and Commander of the Ferguson Operation in the days following the 2014 shooting of Michael Brown, at 7 p.m. in Shamblin Theatre.
The forum is one of several Conversations of Significance hosted during Lipscomb University’s year-long celebration of its 125th anniversary. During the event, Steve Joiner, dean of the Lipscomb College of Leadership & Public Service, will conduct a moderated discussion about what communities and individuals can bring to bear during crisis situations.
Johnson was described by the New York Times as a man who “redefined leadership in crisis: equal parts police official, preacher, mediator and neighbor, unafraid to convey his inner thoughts, unafraid to cry.”
